Architect/Architectural Technologist - Leeds
Are you an experienced Architect/Architectural Technologist with experience working on housing adaptations?
Edward Architects is seeking an ambitious Architect, Technologist or Building Surveyor to join its growing team at our Leeds City Centre studio.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join a company with an excellent reputation in this rewarding field of architecture where our expertise ensures that our clients enjoy the benefits as we approach their complex needs with a solution-driven approach.
The role will involve running accessible adaptation projects through the planning, tender and construction stages and providing technical and drawing support to the team.
Qualifications and Experience
· RIBA, CIAT, RICS member or working towards a membership in either of these governing bodies
· Fully qualified with a minimum of 2 years’ experience
· Have a qualification in Architectural Technology/Architecture or Building Surveying at a degree level or equivalent
· The ideal candidate will be proficient in AutoCAD
· Experience of using REVIT is an advantage
· A good understand of construction technology
· Able to work with minimum supervision and maintain projects to a high standard
· Manage projects through the planning, tender and site stages
Specific Responsibilities and Activities within your role
· Take and understand client and design team member’s instructions and produce drawings with RIBA stages 2-5 and manage the project through completion
· Present schemes to clients and give expert advise
· Co-ordinate with other consultants and specialists
· Use own initiative to make decisions operating with proactive approach
· Able to communicate effectively both verbally and written
· Prepare and submit planning applications
· Produce detailed tender design drawing packages and fee schedules
· Produce building regulation packages
· Carry out building surveys and manage consultants
· A clean and current driving license

The ideal candidate will be proficient in AutoCAD (experience with Revit is beneficial), and a good understanding of the planning process and building regulations. This role is for a candidate with a strong technical understanding of domestic projects and buildings in general.
