The Little Don Masterplan

South Yorkshire

Yorkshire Water Estates appointed us to produce a masterplan for a trio of reservoirs on a 1,000+acres site in South Yorkshire, the site for the preparation of the WW2 Dam Buster raids, which includes seven listed buildings. The Little Don Recreation Plan aimed to increase footfall and revenue to the area by improving visitor facilities, new attractions and becoming a flagship UK site. Designed to encourage outdoor inclusive access for all, its focus supported health, fitness and wellbeing. Building inclusive stakeholder partnerships was key to the success of this scheme, working with Barnsley MBC, Peak District National Park, Sheffield CC, Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trusts and Steel Valley Project.
